Simple & Transparent
At Hofmann Construction, we primarily work on an open-book cost-plus basis. This means clients can see the actual costs of materials and subcontractors, along with our agreed contractor fee and separately billed PHC labour.
We prepare estimates based on the information available and refine them as drawings, selections and trade pricing are confirmed. Throughout construction, clear documentation, biweekly invoicing and communication about changes help you understand where your budget stands.
Our Open-Book Cost-Plus Approach
Materials and subcontractors are billed at their actual cost plus an agreed contractor fee. PHC labour is billed separately at agreed hourly rates, without an additional percentage fee unless otherwise stated in your agreement.
This model works well for renovations, additions, and custom projects where the full scope may not be completely known at the beginning. It allows more flexibility as decisions are made during the project and gives clients greater visibility into actual project costs.

Other Pricing Arrangements
For projects with a clearly defined scope, we may consider other pricing arrangements. Suitability depends on the drawings, selections and project details available. Any alternative pricing structure would be discussed and agreed upon before work begins.
