Deep Cove Renovation – Custom Craftsmanship in North Saanich
This full home renovation in Deep Cove, North Saanich brought together West Coast materials, thoughtful detailing, and a strong focus on comfort, durability, and craftsmanship. Set within the natural surroundings of the Saanich Peninsula, the project reflects the kind of careful residential renovation work we enjoy most: collaborative, detail-oriented, and built to last.
We had the pleasure of working with wonderful clients and architects whose trust, clear vision, and appreciation for quality materials helped shape a home that feels both refined and welcoming.
A key feature of this renovation is the use of clear mixed-grain Douglas fir, including custom-milled exterior siding, clear vertical-grain interior window trim, and integrated liner/casing details. These elements frame the Loewen aluminum-clad wood windows, chosen for their timeless appearance, durability, and energy-efficient performance.
To improve comfort and thermal performance, we constructed a double-stud wall assembly, allowing for increased insulation and better sound separation between the interior and exterior. Combined with a SIGA Majrex vapour control layer, this assembly supports a more comfortable and energy-conscious home.
Inside, the custom kitchen by Pronautic Millwork anchors the home with clean lines, natural finishes, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Concealed door hinges at the front entrance and bedroom help maintain a seamless, modern aesthetic throughout the space.
On the exterior, cedar decking was installed over an SBS torch-on waterproof membrane, providing durability and peace of mind while creating a warm outdoor space to enjoy the Deep Cove landscape in every season.
