This custom outdoor living project included the construction of a modern pergola and hardwood deck using clear Douglas fir and Red Balau decking.
The pergola was designed with a unique twisted rafter layout, where each rafter gradually changes angle across the structure. This created a more architectural look while still providing shade, structure, and visual interest for the outdoor space.
The project also included Douglas fir posts, beams, and handrail details, paired with Red Balau hardwood decking for a warm, durable finish. The combination of timber framing, hardwood decking, and clean modern lines created an outdoor space that feels both functional and carefully crafted.
